  • During our Sept meeting, members were treated to a lecture by Master Gardener Gretel Anspach. She educated us on Seed Acquisition and Selection including understanding how a plant produces seeds , interesting and useful terms and how to read and select a seed packet.

During our business meeting we mapped our upcoming years, got our yearbooks and enjoyed food and fellowship. We met at the Memorial United Methodist Church with is a new meeting site for us. The church memebers were very welcoming.

  • More wonderful programming during our 90th year! March had our members making arrangements around Vintage items (oh the storys these pieces told ). Mayor Shaunna O’Connell and the city of Taunton honored and recognized our contributions to the Community. We welcomed new members too.

The April meeting celebrated our past Presidents and we welcomed Marjorie Dienhart, President of the Federation Garden of Massachusetts as well as other area club’s presidents. Our own Jim Watkins gave an informative and hands on lecture entitled “Fun-gi in the Mulch”.

  • Our 90th Year is off to a Great Start!! In September we welcomed our members back and our President Mary Heim introduced her Presidency’s theme ” The 5 Bs” . October had a slight change in programing but since we are a club that takes everything in stride, one of our members Teresa Mello presented a slide show on Fall Gardens.

We hosted a lecture in November by Master Gardener Janet Weathers entitled ” Winter Pruning “. What a wonderful and informative program.

And of course our December winter greens sale at Pine Hills in Plymouth not only was a successful fundraiser (despite the rain) but showcased the talents of our members .

This fall also gave us the opertunity to reach out to the community through area town events and our service focused Senior and Junior gardening programs.

We are looking forward to a great 2024 ! Please consider joining us . Our programs will include vintage arrangements by our memebers, a lecture on earth friendly mulch alternatives and much much more.

  • We honored our past and present Presidents for thier hard work and dedication to our club. Our speaker was our own Teresa Mello who spoke on making Garden Oraments out of recycled items.
